Make it easy to see that every reviewer point was taken seriously
Reviewer Response Guide
A strong response letter is organized, respectful and evidence-based. It tells the reviewer exactly what changed, where it changed and why a requested change was or was not made.

YOU SENDThe current manuscript, notes, source files or decision letter.
WE HANDLEEvery in-scope publication task that can responsibly be delegated.
YOU RETAIN CONTROLScience, data, ethics, authorship and final approval.
Respond point by point
Do not combine unrelated reviewer comments into one vague answer. Separate each point and link it to a specific manuscript change.
Quote or summarize the change
Where appropriate, show the revised wording or indicate the exact section and line range.
Disagree professionally
If a request cannot be followed, explain the scientific reason and provide evidence rather than responding defensively.
Cross-check the final files
Every claimed revision in the response letter should actually appear in the revised manuscript.
