Secure Stripe Checkout

ManuscriptRoute uses dedicated Stripe-hosted checkout links for paid publication services and routes. The payment step is separated from WordPress card handling, and each successful purchase is matched to the selected ManuscriptRoute workflow before paid work is treated as activated.

01

Why we use Stripe-hosted checkout

Clients enter supported payment-method details in Stripe's hosted checkout environment rather than a custom card form built into ManuscriptRoute. This reduces unnecessary handling of sensitive payment credentials by the WordPress site.

02

What payment confirms

A successful payment confirms purchase of the selected ManuscriptRoute professional service or Publication Route. It does not represent a journal acceptance, publisher fee, peer-review decision or guaranteed publication date.

03

How payment is matched to the project

  • Every dedicated checkout link is associated with a specific ManuscriptRoute service or route.
  • Clients should use the same email address for Stripe checkout and the Author Portal whenever practical.
  • The Stripe receipt should be retained until the project is matched and opened.
  • A return URL by itself does not activate paid service; the purchase is matched against the Stripe payment record.
04

What is normally separate

  • Publisher article-processing charges (APCs) and journal fees.
  • Institutional, registry, courier, translation or third-party charges.
  • Major new experiments, new original data or work outside the purchased scope.
QUESTIONS

Before you decide

Does ManuscriptRoute store my full card number in WordPress?

The ManuscriptRoute model uses Stripe-hosted checkout links rather than a custom card-entry form on the WordPress site.

Does paying guarantee journal publication?

No. Payment purchases the ManuscriptRoute professional workflow stated on the service or route page. Independent journal decisions remain outside ManuscriptRoute's control.

What should I keep after payment?

Keep the Stripe receipt and use the same email in the Author Portal whenever possible so the payment can be matched to the correct manuscript project.
